But, this software is quite complicated to understand, especially for naive users. It lets you create light shows with various lighting fixtures and equipment. It is basically a DMX lighting controlling software. SweetLight is a great free stage lighting software for Windows and Mac OS. The new property-based light control provides a relaxed programming of projects without annoying channel value calculation. Exciting effects can be made in short period time and individual show experiences can be generated. With a 1 universe dongle ($1000) and a cheaper Artnet to DMX (ENTTEC) you can have crazy powerful software that would allow expansion.DMXControl 3 is the new DMX control software for the disco, stages and basement hobby room lighting. Each dongle allows so many active channels. But you need a dongle to get output from the software. If they get the software they will be much more likely to serve more! The one thing is, the hardware to run it is not cheap! The software is free so you can start learning the software right now while you wait for funds. Great if you are having volunteers run / program services! Its very user friendly which makes training time for volunteers shorter. The guy that's running Tobymac's tour right now is using it. I work at a fairly large church (not trying to brag) but we use it, and its amazing. Another product I would recommend would be Jands Vista. They have a non-time restricted dongle for $100 FYI. Which for a church service you would never come close too. The $15 dongle has a 5 hour limit, after you hit the 5 hour limit you just have to restart the software. I totally agree with Chamsys, its 15$ to get started with one universe, which is crazy cheap! It will give you a good start into basic knowledge about lighting terms (It doesn't make up its own terms to make it more user friendly). I personally think LightKey is really good for churches because the interface is really easy to learn and intuitive - as opposed to other programs like M-PC and chauvet showxpress which i think are a bit ugly (subjectively) to be honest. For volunteers at church, I've found that its hard to find someone who will sit down and take hours to learn an entire lighting control software as opposed to LightKey where I can teach someone to control the basic lights in maybe ~15 minutes because it is so easy to use. LightKey has a feature that lets you map colors of lights directly to the usb midi button, which then it also lights up the launchpad to the corresponding color automatically. To control the interface, we use a Novation Launchpad for colors and position midi mappings and a cheap Korg usb midi fader for the dimmers. For us, we use an ENTTEC DMX USB Pro for dmx output. When it first came out, there were a lot of features missing, but the development is very active and they add features and fixes all the time. I've been using it for about four years now at my church, and the program has come a long way. I’ll add a photo of the set in the comments. I’ve seen a few tutorials on how to configure LED strip designs, so I have a fairly general idea on what equipment I needs Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Would it be a good program? Or should I go with something else? How should I go about controlling each SourceFour light when they are all connected to Dimmer Packs on the same channel?Īlso looking into a doing an LED strip backwall design that I would like to tie into the set, need some tips on that. Now the questions: I am thinking about throwing down $100 on LightKey to have as the software to run the lights. I’m working towards individual control for each light, so I just purchase an Entecc ODE POE Mk2 to move from our physical 12 channel controller to a software option. We have 4 dummy LED cans that light up a plastic set and two spare LED cans that light up two side columns. Then we have 6 LED Chavet Slim 64? on a truss on the backwall that act as hair/backlight for the stage. ALL of these lights operate on 4 DMX channels. We currently have a bunch of can lights that connect to dimmer packs that face the stage, along with 4 sourceFour 750 that light up the center of the stage. It is a fairly low ceiling building but we do have a few truss’s and I would like to make the most of our lighting. I’m very new to this subreddit but I’m looking for some advice on improving light design at my church.

We can measure the efficiency of the home and then plug a ‘basket of average weather, thermostat & heating system timer settings’ through that model to give a kWh heat demand over a year. Raw data collected via small sensor boxes is worked on by an algorithm to create multiple real performance metrics: one being kWh pa heat requirement in averaged conditions. In short, the EPC said our works wouldn’t materially impact home running costs or comfort.īefore the results, a short description on what’s being sensed. The EPC didn’t recognise the improved quality of the replacement measures while the desktop software (SAP) underpinning the EPC didn’t value the only ‘new’ insulation measure – party wall insulation – as having an impact. The details are here but key was the works barely changed the dial on the EPC home efficiency rating. The retrofit was ‘light’ – taking out existing insulation to re-install with attention on quality. Through the deployment of sensors collecting real world data, we measured the pre and post retrofit efficiency – how quickly heat leaked out – in 12 homes in Manchester. So what energy bill & energy security benefits can sensing homes offer? As useful feedback goes, imagine a Doctor waving a doll at a critical care patient asking ‘where does it hurt’? Not completely useless, but hardly deploying all available tools. Smart meters sense energy flows into the home but nothing senses the speed at which heat leaks out or how well heating systems convert gas or electricity to heat. Granular feedback from sensors & data processing helps make sense of the modern world. Emergency hospital entry will see your heart & oxygen levels tracked while sensors will go to work divining signals hidden in various bodily fluids. The average car has 50+ sensors, a phone 14 and a plane 10,000. First up – accept a single core principle: we now live in a ‘sensed world’. However, the rest of the Dwarfs are pretty weak. Magda, Brazen Outlaw is certainly a powerful card. Here’s another deck that I tried building myself. Narfi, Betrayer King pumps all creatures in your deck, while Jorn, God of Winter gives you some interesting options by becoming Kaldring, the Rimestaff.Īnother Kaldheim card in the deck is Draugr Necromancer, which seems pretty sweet if you manage to make it work. For example, there’s Frost Augur, which has approximately 50% chance of drawing you a card, whenever you activate it – around half of the deck is presented by snow cards. This deck plays heavily towards snow synergies. Snow Zombie Tribalĭo you want to play a snow deck or Zombie tribal? Why not a little bit of both? However, the deck is a really fun one to play, and might even be somewhat viable. Since you really want to play a lot of Berserkers, you do end up with some sub-optimal creatures. What more would you want?Īdditionally, you also use Skemfar Avenger for card advantage. It just does everything – makes a relevant body, provides card advantage and a mana boost. There aren’t that many payoffs for Berserkers, but The Bloodsky Massacre is a really amazing card if you can support it. While the two big tribes of the set are most certainly Elves and Giants, there are some minor synergies for other creature types as well.įor starters, this deck is built around Berserker. Here are some various tribal Kaldheim decks. Kaldheim has plenty of tribal synergies, especially considering the changelings. Both Kroxa and Bonecrusher Giant can fill its Giant-clause, and your opponents will be taking damage from everywhere. The deck already contained a bunch of self-mill synergies, so it can quite easily support Quakebringer. Tibalt & Kroxaĭid you enjoy casting Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger in the previous Standard, but now you’re a bit bored with it? Don’t worry, as this deck can definitely spice up the experience. If you like grindy decks, you should try this one out. However, yoman5 didn’t decide to go with an 80-card deck, but used the more consistent 60-card version. This deck uses plenty of Kaldheim cards, Kaya and Tibalt are the two planeswalkers, but additionally there are also two powerful sagas – Firja’s Retribution and Binding the Old Gods.Īs you can imagine, both of them are pretty good with Yorion. The deck contains plenty of other Kaldheim cards, for example: Perhaps, you won’t get the most millage out of the +1, but other than that, you’ll be able to use all other parts to get both removal and plenty of card advantage. It plays a full playset of Niko Aris, so it’s a great deck if you want to try this planeswalker out. The deck plays Yorion, Sky Nomad as a companion, which means it contains 80 cards. If you enjoyed your previous Dance of the Manse decks, you’re going to like this one to. Kaldheim Decks With Planeswalkersįirst up, some Kaldheim decks that contain new planeswalkers. Now that we have our template created, we need to write the python code that fills in the placeholder values in the template with what you need. Here, ‘name’ is the name of the python variable that we’ll pass into the template, which holds the string placeholder that we want to include in the template. Then in this file, simply add one line: Your name is: All you have to do it create a text file (let’s call it name.txt). This template will simply be a text file that prints out the value of a name. Let’s create a simple template just as an illustration. Writing the python code that assigns the placeholder values to your Jinja2 templates and renders a new text string according to these values. In these templates, you can use a variety of Jinja2 syntax features that allow you to adjust the look of the file and how it loads the placeholder data. Creating the text file Jinja2 templates that contain placeholder values. There are two main components of working with Jinja2: Keep in mind that Jinja2 can come in handy for other reporting applications, like sending automated emails or creating reports in other text file formats. We’ll be using Jinja2 to generate HTML files of our reports that we will convert into PDFs with other tools. You can think of it like super high-powered string substitution. It’s a very flexible tool, used widely in Python web applications to generate HTML for users. In short, it lets you automatically generate text documents by programmatically filling in placeholder values that you assign to text file templates. Jinja2 is a great tool to become familiar with, especially if you do web development in Python. Note that you also need to install a tool called wkhtmltopdf for pdfkit to work. We’ll install our required packages with the following commands: pip install pdfkit pip install Jinja2 The particular solution I came up with uses two main tools: Jinja2 and Pdfkit. I recently needed to do PDF reporting in a work assignment. This is often important for getting buy-in from people comfortable with the old system. This means that if the legacy system used PDF reporting, then you should strongly consider creating this functionality in the replacement system.
